Learning, Researching and Thinking Critically with AI

As AI becomes part of the academic landscape, students need to understand not only how these tools work, but also how to use them in ways that support learning and build lasting skills.

This workshop introduces AI as part of today's information ecosystem and explores how it is changing the way students search for information, conduct research, solve problems, and create knowledge. Students will learn practical strategies for evaluating AI-generated information, designing effective prompts, and using AI to strengthen—rather than replace—their own thinking.

Grounded in information literacy and digital scholarship, this session emphasizes human capabilities, critical inquiry, and responsible AI use while preparing students to navigate an increasingly AI-assisted academic environment.
