The Sounds of San Anto digital music project began in 2022 as a companion to the upcoming History of Music in San Antonio book. Starting with a vast concert archive dating back to the late 1800s, the team set out to create an inclusive, community-driven project covering the 210 area code and beyond. To engage multiple generations the project consists a map containing 40 years of San Antonio concert data, a retro-style message board for sharing memories, and honored a classic corrido with a modern twist.

Launched in 2025, the project is continuing through 2026. The team will work with community members to contribute stories, favorite venues, and personal connections to San Antonio’s rich musical history.
