Consultations

We meet with faculty, students, and South Texas community members, consulting with them on the use of digital tools and methods such as:

  • GIS
  • digital exhibits
  • metadata creation and schema
  • data cleaning/wrangling
  • computational text analysis
  • visualization
  • user experience methods
  • podcasting
  • web accessibility
  • digital project management

These tools and methods can be used to support community-engaged research, an important method in achieving broader public impact. We advise on best practices for building equitable community relationships and working ethically with community as equal collaborators.

If your consult is related to a research project, there is no minimum notice to schedule a meeting with us. However, if you are consulting about classroom pedagogy support, we ask for a 4-week lead time for a one-time activity visit and an 8-week lead time for a semester long collaborations. If you have any concerns about this timeline, please email us at cedish@utsa.edu.
